Here at Enlightened World.Online, it is our great pleasure to welcome Monica Augustine.

Q: It’s been fascinating and moving to learn what led you to become a Holy Fire Reiki Master Teacher and practitioner, as well as an intuitive, and a certified life coach. I’ve been learning about how you help your clients release their inner blocks, get clarity on what’s next, and then take action to build a richer life. You also help bring about physical healing. So, could you start out by telling us about how you work with Holy Fire Reiki?

A: I open up and let go of myself—my ego/personality—and listen. I trust where Reiki guides me.

Over time, I’ve started to understand and experience on deeper levels that none of this work is about me. There’s definitely a sense of relief. At first, I felt a lot of pressure. Then I began to experience and hear the words, “It’s not about you,” and “Just tune into us.” “Us” is the realm of love and light. In Reiki, we call it Third Heaven. It is a vibration/realm beyond ego and self.

I now know this in a more profound way. Over the years, I’ve been surrendering to trust as an ongoing practice in my work and personal life. It is amazing how life (Love/God/Reiki–I use these terms interchangeably) works with us, loves us, and knows us. I’d go as far as to say it is us and we are it. Recently, I’ve been able to hear and trust the message, “We work with you and come through you.” Now I just open, listen, and follow.

Reiki and Spirit (meaning God and Love to me) help bring about energy healing—whether for mental, emotional, or physical issues. I notice a lot of mental and emotional healing in my clients when working with Holy Fire Reiki. When my clients are looking for insights and clarity, Reiki and Spirit can also be combined with an intuitive reading.

Reiki and Spirit can also work with my clients after they’ve had surgery. My clients and I usually work together three times a week for about a month or so after their surgery, depending on the type of surgery and how extensive it was.

Surgery clients have said they and their doctors have noticed a significant increased recovery time, more circulation, positivity, and flexibility in that area. I see the light in their eyes as they are on their feet faster and are up and about more. It is very exciting!

Reiki work is often in person, but it can be remote, connecting via Skype, and this is just as effective. Some of my clients are out of the state or country. My intuitive reading and life coaching clients are 50:50–50 percent in person and 50 percent remote. I love both types of sessions. It’s nice to have the flexibility of sessions in person, over the phone, or using Skype.

Q: What do you love most about being a Holy Fire Reiki Master Teacher and practitioner?

A: The experience and feeling of working with divine intuition and intelligence. It is so incredible, and I am very thankful to be working with pure loving energy in this way.

I have noticed that Holy Fire Reiki knows each client intimately. Holy Fire Reiki knows both what each individual needs as well as what that person is able to deal with in their lives at that particular time.

It’s been my personal experience that Holy Fire Reiki works in a way that is similar in feel to a time-release capsule. When I personally have a session, I feel the energy working with me and then—typically during the week after my session—new energies are released and integrated.

These are energies or mindsets that no longer serve me. Everyone is different, but there are usually changes in the energy fields of my clients as they integrate new energy flows over the week following a session. Some clients share this with me after their session if they are aware of it. Some notice in that moment, and some notice things after the session and through the week. Clients who’ve had surgery notice and report a much quicker recovery time, better circulation, and more flexibility in that area than is typical. That’s so satisfying!

Q: Could you say more about how your clients are able to take positive action after working with Holy Fire Reiki?

A: Many of my clients want more creativity, clarity, or confidence. Once we are able to clear away what has been holding them back—whether it is self-sabotage, overwhelm, confusion, low confidence, trauma or negative thoughts—my clients feel ready to move ahead with their lives. They report an experience of optimism, hope, and confidence in themselves and their mindset. At this point, I can support them by identifying positive next steps with them, through my training as a certified life coach. Clients have shared that they like to have Reiki sessions on a consistent basis, depending on each person. Some like sessions once a month; some, every other month. It varies. Whatever is best for them. They usually know when they are ready for a session.

Q: Could you tell us what you love about EWN, our network of online podcasts?

A: I love the idea of EWN! I chose to partner with EWN, and to create a series of podcasts with EWN’s founder Ruth Anderson because I feel the world as a whole is realizing that we need to come together and raise our awareness and consciousness for ourselves, our families, and one another more than ever!

And that is what ENW is all about! Also, Ruth was one of my Reiki students. She is a colleague and a good friend. She had asked me if I’d like to share about Reiki and also about my healing journey with abuse as a child through my teen years. It just felt right, and it’s been a wonderful opportunity.

Q: Could you tell us about your spiritual journey and how that led you to your work today?
A: It was my history of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse as a child and teen that led me on a path to find compassion for myself and others.

What led me on my spiritual journey was seeking mental and emotional peace for myself and those around me. I wanted to be a positive participant in life and to make a positive contribution to my family and my community.

I was aware of some of the mental afflictions I have had over my life, and I wanted to heal them. I was aware they manifested from the abuse, but I was determined to heal them and not be a stuck product of my past experiences. I have always been led by my heart. I am a natural nurturer, so I wanted to gain more skills to support others and to continue in my personal and spiritual development.
