More than 12 million children in the United States alone live in “food insecure” homes, which means that 1 in 6 children in the United States lives with hunger.
What can be done to help get food to people who are going hungry? What can be done to help circulate food to the hungry in your community?
Imperfect Produce helps reduce food waste by shipping produce to subscribers that is not attractive enough to be sent to the grocery stores. “Imperfect” states that more than 20+ percent of the produce grown in America is discarded because it is not attractive enough to sell, with billions of pounds of produce going to waste every year. Please consider supporting them or other organizations to help co-create solutions to combat food waste.
